The guy with the cool name is back

The guy with the coolest name in the minors is re-asserting himself as one of the Cardinal's top pitching prospects. Blake Hawksworth pitched 6 solid innings for Palm Beach tonight, striking out 6, walking 2 and giving up 5 hits and no runs. In 4 starts, Hawksworth is 2-1 with a 2.84 ERA.  As most of you know, Hawksworth has been plagued by injuries sinced named the Cardinals #1 Prospect by Baseball America in 2004. It appeared the Cardinals may have given up on him ever reaching his potential after a very underwhelming 7 games with New Jersey, leaving him unprotected in the December Rule 5 draft.

Now, he looks like he might be back. Let's just hope he can stay healthy this time.
