Free Bird: John Gall

John Gall is off the farm and up with the big club. Ricky Ricardo is on the DL with a sore arm, but it's obviously not sore from pitching too hard. Skip "don't call me Jared" Schumaker is in the lineup tonight. Scott Rolen is doubtful for the series. All these updates per Bernie Miklasz.

Tonight's lineup

  1. Eck
  2. Miles
  3. Albert
  4. Edmonds
  5. Spiezio
  6. Rodriguez
  7. Molina
  8. Skip
  9. Marquis

I'm a little suprised that Miles is batting 2nd, but he's been getting on base (.421) I'm even more suprised that Skip is even in the lineup, especially when you have a red-hot hitter in Gall who's earned his call up by torching AAA pitching.

Hey, if you like the Win Probability graphs, the Washington Post updating them live as the "baseball events" were happening. You can find them here.

Yeah, I don't know if LaRussa will ever find a lineup he likes. I suppose he's giving everyone a chance to "prove" themself, but a lot of times, it's choices don't seem to match who's hitting well.

As long as we keep winning though, I guess I don't mind too much.

Yeah but that is the problem a little bit with the Cardinals in my opinion. I wonder how long they can keep on winning. With that I am not talking about their division, but more about in the play-offs against the best teams in baseball.
I must admit I do not see the Cardinals win the WS this year. On the other hand, most of us did not expect the Sox to win it last year either, so who knows.
